*** Extended Paper Submission Deadline: July 22, 2013 ***

GENERAL INFORMATION:

We have witnessed fast development of various information and communication technologies in the first decade of the 21st century. At the same time, there has been a tremendous amount of efforts to fuse these individual technologies to provide non-precedent services to the end users. Also, there have been a lot of trials to apply information and communications technology (ICT) to other industrial sectors such as green convergence, smart screen & appliances, next generation broadcasting and media, mobile convergence networks, and other ICT convergence applications and services, all under the name of “ICT convergence.”

ICTC is a unique global premier event for researchers, industry professionals, and academics, organized by KICS, Korea, with the technical co-sponsorship of IEEE Communications Society and IEICE Communications Society, which aims at interacting with and disseminating information on the latest developments in the emerging industrial convergence centered around the information and communications technologies.

More specifically, it will address challenges with realizing ICT convergence over the various industrial sectors, including the infrastructures and applications in wireless & mobile communications, smart devices & consumer appliances, mobile cloud computing, green communication, healthcare and bio-informatics, and intelligent transportation. The conference will include plenary sessions, technical sessions, and invited industrial sessions. You are invited to submit papers in all areas of infrastructures, services, and applications for ICT convergence. Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings with an assigned ISBN number and submitted to IEEE Xplore, SCOPUS, and EI Compendex.

School of Electronics and Telecommunication Hanoi University of Science and Technology cooperates with Nuvoton Technology Corporation Taiwan in Academic Program

Hanoi, 2013/03/01 - School of Electronics and Telecommunication, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (SET HUST) formed a partnership with Nuvoton Technology Corporation (NTC), Taiwan, chip design company, who is interested to partner in ‘Academic Program’. In which Nuvoton donates and provides microcontroller NuMicro ARM Cortex™-M0 NUC 140 learning boards, document, facility for the class for research based on microcontroller ARM Cortex™-M0. Nuvoton has already donated two units of NuMicro ARM Cortex™-M0 microcontroller learning boards for pre study. As the follow-up, Nuvoton will donate 20 units of learning boards. This program will provide microprocessor and embedded systems courses teaching platform for SET HUST students, lecturers, and professors. The purpose of this program is to provide knowledge and understanding to students about the latest microcontroller technology 32-bit ARM Cortex™-M0. It is expected in this program also happens transfer of information and technology between the industry and academia mutual beneficial between the two sides and also realized the technology transfer between the two countries, Vietnam and Taiwan.

The plan of Nuvoton’s academic program is mainly to provide training to students for the mainstream products in next 1~2 decade, it may also have chance to extend it to projects or software development in next step. This program is begun in January 2013 and Nuvoton will visit SET HUST in March 25th, 2013 for meeting and discussion regarding academic program plan and evaluation.

Nuvoton NuMicro ARM Cortex™-M0 single chip microprocessor learning board provide SET HUST on the upgrading to 32-bit MCU level, and also help SET HUST on the embedded system application development research program. NuMicro ARM Cortex™-M0 microprocessor platform for teaching use, and provides free software environment, drivers, and source code examples.

NuMicro ARM Cortex M0 NUC 140 Learning Board

Microprocessor in the next 20 years, is still widely used in mainstream architecture, and hope that through the course of SET HUST students, they will be able to catch up the industrial technology, standards synchronization industry cultivating for more competitive talents. In the future, SET HUST and Nuvoton will have a further technical education, training, and research cooperation.

The 32-bit ARM Cortex™-M0 microprocessor are significantly improved in computing speed and application performance, common used in car electronics, such as: audio, window controls, navigation system, and so on, through the internet and vehicle electronic communication, to expand the surrounding function. Nuvoton academic program also want to take the industry's latest embedded platform ARM Cortex™-M0, not only to learn the basic control theory and implementation, but also allows students to learn the basic tools and production processes need to electronics engineers, due to the course content information and examples of both practicality, helps students thematic studies and significantly enhance future employability. In the future, Nuvoton will continue to support the microcontroller-based research conducted by SET HUST.
